Our Community
Built by the people who keep coming back.
Our local heroes
The people who make Run Amuk what it is.
Since opening in 2012, Run Amuk has grown alongside its community — becoming part of the routine for locals, a place where friends bring friends, and where visitors introduce people from all over the world to a hot dog on South Terrace.
Some have been coming for more than a decade. Others discovered us somewhere along the way and stayed. That shared history lives throughout the space — in the South Freo beach mural, the car wall, and the stories shared across the counter.

The film
To tell our local heroes’ stories, we made a film about them.
At the top of this page is the Local Heroes film. In September 2025, we invited 30 of our most loyal locals to Run Amuk for a big night of hot dogs, fries, shakes and homemade lemonade. Between bites and laughs, we asked a few simple questions — why they keep coming back, what they order every time, and which moments here stand out.
What they shared — honest, funny and unmistakably Freo — is our thank you to the people who’ve supported Run Amuk from the start and helped shape it into what it is today.
